Getting started

Getting support at home, step by step

Arranging care for the first time can feel overwhelming, especially if you're doing it for someone you love. Here's exactly what happens, from your first call to your first visit.

Step 1 of 5

You get in touch

Call us or send an enquiry. There's no cost, no obligation, and no pressure. We'll ask a few questions about what's going on and answer whatever you'd like to know.

Step 2 of 5

We listen

We'll arrange a time to meet, usually in your home, so we can see how you live and what would actually help. Family are welcome to be part of the conversation.

Step 3 of 5

We work out funding together

If you have aged care, DVA or NDIS funding, we'll explain how it applies. If you don't yet, we'll explain your options, including starting privately while an assessment is underway.

Two pairs of hands, one elderly and one younger, sharing freshly picked lemons at a kitchen bench.

Step 4 of 5

We build your plan

You choose the services, the days and the times. We write it up clearly so everyone knows what's happening and what it costs.

Step 5 of 5

Your team starts

You'll meet your regular support workers, and we'll check in to make sure it's working. As your needs change, your plan changes with them.

Choosing well

What to ask any provider

Compare us. Ask every provider you talk to these five questions, they separate the good ones fast, and we're happy to answer all of them on the first call.

  • Will I get the same worker each time?
  • How do you handle a cancelled visit?
  • Who do I call if something goes wrong?
  • Are your staff police-checked and insured?
  • What happens if my needs change?

Common questions

How long does it take from first call to first visit?
Often under a week for private services. Funded services depend on where you are in the assessment process, and we can usually bridge the gap privately if you need help sooner.
Does the first meeting cost anything?
No. The conversation, the home visit and the planning are all free, with no obligation.
Can I arrange care for someone else?
Yes, most first calls come from a son or daughter. We'll work with you and your parent together, at whatever pace suits them.
What if we start and it isn't right?
Tell us. There's no lock-in contract, we'll change the plan, change the people, or part ways without fuss. It's your home and your call.

Ready for the first conversation?
